Old School.   Dreamer.   Confessional Songwriter.

Integrity is my biggest influence. Well that and, maybe….Joni Mitchell.

My childhood was immersed in music.

When it came to his job, I suppose I thought ‘everyone’s dad does that’. He is both a musician and he also ran a music distribution warehouse when I was a kid. Of course, I kick myself now as I remember my dad trying to teach me the guitar many many times but I couldn’t be bothered to muster up the attention span needed.  What was I thinking?!   Ugh! …but I digress.

I LOVED going to the warehouse; wall to wall towers of tapes and records (and eventually these new little compact disk thingies) as far as a child’s eye could see. Not to mention the fringe benefits that come from the “business”: Posters, comp music, concert tickets and back stage passes! Oh my!

Music obviously connects us, but I also prefer the stuff that makes you think.

I draw influence from many places.  And I have always heard new melodies running through my mind…for as long as I can remember. It was later in life that I realized (much like how I also realized how lucky my musical childhood was!), maybe everyone else does not hear new music all the time, after all..?

So long story short; I taught myself to play the piano (sort of) and vowed from that point forward….
