What’s New?
Anyone else a little tired of recent events?
My reflections (and perhaps just a wee bit of protest) on everything from the death grip of social media, especially on the younger generation… to corrupt politics… to ridiculous errors in human judgment regarding the ongoing power struggle over basic civil rights. In so many ways, how can this possibly be 2020.
Super Hero was released on the 15th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. I drew comparison between my favorite municipal swimming pool when I was growing up vs. what it had become (no longer in service / total disrepair).
Super Hero was a sort of reflective look at the state of America circa 2015ish, as compared through a pre-9/11 child’s eyes vs. a post-9/11 adult’s eyes. Sadly, this song’s theme just seems to be getting stronger and stronger these days.
We really could use a super hero right about now.
And now, onto some other stuff in life.
I’ve been inspired by everything from romance (of course), to wishful thinking, to pre-mid-life crisis… From lofty goals and dreams, to the soundtracks of dreams, to traumatic eye-witness events…
